Summer is almost here! And the weather is definitely starting to heat up. Few things are more refreshing than iced tea drinks, and matcha really lets us get creative with them.
There's nothing magical about "cold-brewing" matcha—it simply means you shake up the matcha powder with a cold liquid so that it never touches any heat. You can cold-brew matcha with just about *anything* (juices, milks, sparkling beverages, even other teas), and over the next few weeks we'll share some of our favorites.
First up...coconut water!
Ingredients:
- 8-12 oz (1 to 1½ cups) coconut water
- 1 tsp matcha (culinary or ceremonial)
Preparation:
- Add ingredients to a shaker bottle (add the coconut water first, then the matcha to avoid any sticking to the bottom) and shake vigorously until well mixed.
- Pour over ice and enjoy!
Shaking is a fantastic way to get matcha mixed...so good in fact that you don't even need to sift the matcha prior to shaking to avoid clumps!
